Group Life – Future Community

The final session of the Group Life Conference was all about discovering what is in the future for group ministry. Bill Donahue spoke with three key leaders about new directions that they are taking in creating community in their own context:
Denise VanEck, from Mars Hill in Michigan, shared her challenges in leading missional change in the group ministry. They have restructured their ministry to have a regional approach so people begin learning more about the needs around them.
Bobby Gruenewald, from Lifechurch.tv, spoke about the Internet campus they have developed and how they have started small groups that meet online instead of homes and coffee shops.
Steve Wu, from Willow Creek Chicago campus, spoke about cross cultural ministry in an urban setting.
Mike Breaux wrapped up the whole thing with a talk about need for a relational focused approach to ministry. It is these relationships that are the legacy we leave because they are what initiates life change.
The team I brought with me this year was amazing. I am so thankful that I get to serve with such wonderful people that are filled with passion for the cause of Christ. Hopefully their experience was as incredible as mine was. I want to thank Bill Donahue, Greg Bowman, and the rest of the WCA team for executing such a great conference this year.
Below is a video that wraps up the experience:
