Best Wishes to Gene Appel

I have a great amount of respect for Gene Appel. After his short visit here a couple of months ago, I look forward to seeing how God uses his leadership gifts in the future.
Recently Gene accepted a position at Eastside Christian Church in Fullerton, California. At a dinner meeting with him, here at CCV, he indicated he was praying over a few different options. A couple of weekends ago the elders at Eastside announced that, after much thought and prayer, Gene had accepted the Senior Pastor position.
Tom Bond, chairman of their elder board put it this way,
The past eight weeks have been an incredible time for me personally as I’ve watched God move in a clear and mighty way in the lives of both Graydon Jessup and Gene Appel. Even as Graydon was listening to and obeying the call of God to prepare for a new ministry, Gene was evaluating several different ministry options, spending hours in prayer, and actively listening for God’s leading. Through the hours of conversation I had with Gene, I was able to watch God move him from being intrigued by the opportunity at Eastside to being called; not just to Eastside, but to North Orange County which Gene referred to as “one of the largest mission fields on the planet”.If you’ve read Gene’s bio, you know that he is an anointed teacher with outstanding leadership capabilities that God has used to do some incredible things. As impressive as Gene’s past accomplishments are, it’s clear to me that Gene’s best days of ministry are ahead of him and that they will take place right here at Eastside!
Gene, best wishes to you, and have a great time!
