Orchard Group Retreat

The Orchard Group played a major role in helping Christ’s Church of the Valley get started. I am forever grateful for their efforts in the Northeast and New York (my place of origin). I am sure I will continue to look up to Paul Williams and the team at Orchard for some time to come as I mature in my ministry efforts at CCV.

This week I have the pleasure of attending a retreat that the Orchard Group has hosted every year since I have been on staff here. I will be leading one of the breakout sessions with Ben on sermon and service design and I am certain we will have a blast leading the discussion.

However, each year I go to these retreats I am continually uplifted to see the passion for church planting and reaching people far from God. It reminds me that we are not alone in our efforts and that there is much more work to do. If I am able to connect to the web, I will blog about the experience this year so stay in touch!

CCV is about to commemorate their anniversary by having an invite a friend day. I found this recently and was impressed by a couple of things. One, a church is celebrating 150 years. That is awesome. The other was that…

On Feb. 28, 1858 the river was frozen from shore to shore and the ice had to be cut for the baptism of "22 hardy believers as thousands of townspeople turned out to witness their public profession of faith,"

Not Hot Tub for these people.
