Who Knows The Condition Of Your Soul?

Here are a few points that I believe are so important to remember from church this Sunday. We were reminded about the mission of our church and that it has two parts:
18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. (Matthew 28)
The first is make disciples – baptizing them and the second is teaching them to obey. By the very nature of Jesus’ instruction we can see that the journey of faith and discipleship begins at baptism however we must relentlessly pursue a deep relationship with God and a passion for the truth that can be found in scripture. If we, as followers of Jesus, are not well grounded then how can we truly fulfill our mission and help other find their way back to God?
The only real way to ensure that you are growing in your faith is to make sure accountability is a major part of your life. All of us as Christians should be actively engaged with someone that knows the condition of our soul. I had a few people ask me about the accountability questions Brian shared today in his message. I think I have them all here:
1. Have you spent adequate time in Bible study and prayer?
2. Have met your wife’s needs as you should have as a loving husband?
3. Have you met your kids’ needs as you should have as a loving father?
4. Have you gone into debt, tithed and/or saved?
5. Have you viewed pornography of any kind?
6. Did you feel yourself becoming attracted to anyone of the opposite sex?
7. Did you exercise and eat right?
8. Did you engage someone far from God in a strategic way?
9. Did you take a full day off?
10. Did you have a struggle that we didn’t touch on that you need prayer for?
11. Have you lied, obscured, or exaggerated any of your answers?
Feel free to modify these questions for your group or person you may meet with. All of our struggles are different and you may have to add question to this list or change a few to suit you needs. Hopefully you find this helpful and make sure you find someone that you can talk with about the condition of your soul.

Hey Frank!
Thank you for posting some of those example accountability questions. I meant to ask Brian about those, but you’ve already made the task easy!
Hope you’re doing well!
