Social Media Discussion

Social media is changing the way we maintain relationships, connect in the workplace, and even beginning to change the way we do ministry. The Christian Web Trends Blog recently posted a some great Q&A discussion about social media that you may want to check out:
Post 1: Social Networking Consumption
Post 2: Social Networking For Organizations
Post 3: Social Media for Individuals
Post 4: Future of Social Networking
What forms of social media do you use and what are your favorites?

Hi Frank,
Thanks for blogging about the social networking round table series. Looks like are making good use of social media with a blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, & more. What was your biggest take-away from the series?
I’d also be curious to hear how your church is using social media, what’s working, and what’s not working?
Paul,
Thanks for doing all the legwork for the series you posted. I think the biggest take-away for church leaders is to take it slow and to observe what others are doing so you can formulate a healthy strategy that works for you. Every church has its own culture and philosophy of ministry but we can still learn from each other.
Our church staff has been blogging for a while now but we are now jumping into online video through Vimeo and also have set up a fan page for the church on facebook. My next goal is to have our church jump into bulk texting since not too many of our attendees use twitter.
Just providing some additional resources for SM in the context of Church. Nice article in Collide Magazine. Glad you had a nice Vaca in FL with Family. Here is the link http://tinyurl.com/km7uov
