A Church That Burns Bibles?
// October 16th, 2009 // ministry, stories
I’m quite shocked that a pastor would do this with his church. That’s right, Amazing Grace Baptist Church in Canton, NC is planning a book burning and bbq this Halloween. Among the books are any Bibles that are not the King James Version. After looking at the video below, if you had a chance to sit down with Pastor Marc Grizzard, what would you tell him?

That’s just crazy talk! Todd and I were at a Bible museum several years ago and there were to older ladies huffing and puffing about all the different versions and how the King James version is the only true translation.
Whatever.
I’d say, “Fashion Emergency!” If you’re going to be on TV wearing overall’s at least put one strap down!
Interesting post. I guess this pastor believes that discipleship occurs from teaching doctrine from the KJV is his best defense from heresy. I don’t know the man, nor have I sat under his leadership. These soundbites just contribute to the division of believers. According the Phillipians 1:15-18 I think he may be being used by God.
I will reserve my judgment and pray for him and his church and pray that he preaches about a risen Lord.
