I like it...but...it seems fairly limited to people who are on google/gmail. It would be better if it also took in status updates from other social media platforms (facebook, linkedin, yammer, etc.) into this one platform. I will be interested to see where the Buzz takes us.

David, sorry for the confusion, I meant to post a response but ended up distracted. I posted the video of Pat because the information was straight from his own mouth on national television. I removed the link you placed on Ed Young because it was a one sided attack on Ed Young and Fellowship church. If it was a link to an interview or footage of Ed Young talking about the issues mentioned (in an un-biased manner) I would have been happy to spread the message and share with others who read my blog. However, after some further research and a response from Ed Young I'm happy to repost your link and a link to Ed's response:
David's link - http://www.wfaa.com/news/investigates/Prominent-Pastor-Linked-to-Luxury-83600192.html
Ed's response - http://www.edyoungblog.com/2010/02/moving-on.html

I'm confused. You deleted the link but didn't respond? You were quick to quip regarding Pat Robertson yet offer no comment on Ed Young?

Rather sad to add words to Pat's communication. So what are your thoughts regarding the actions of this well known pastor?

I like it too.
Be assured that the debate I reference is in full force and if you read the hope page of the new atheist charity it is more about besmirching theism than about charity:

Mariano, thanks for the comment. I'm not sure how much athiests are trying to police charity. I haven't seen any of the debate that you are bringing up. All I know is that I really like what FCBY is doing and I really believe in their approach to reaching people world wide with a message of hope.

Am I understanding this correctly?

FCBY is teamed up with another org and are supplying food for the body and soul.

For the past few years atheists worldwide have literally wasted enormous amounts of money during times of recession, war and poverty not in helping anyone in any material need but in order to purchase bus ads and billboards attempting to demonstrated just how clever they consider themselves to be; and now they want to become the charity police—please!

Great post, Frank. As I said on my FB post about this, "I think this is one way we can get back to the New Testament ideal of 'every day they met together ... ' We still need face-to-face meetings, but community can be built even more through social networking."

I like the story, about cutting the string. In reflection, according the scripture we deserve Hell. We consciously lead our lives based upon selfish ambition. We have no power in changing the direction of our destination except through the Grace and Mercy of God, crushing His Son on the cross. Yet that awareness, and even acceptance is a difficult pill to swallow. The sheer magnitude of His gift of a return home ticket requires obedience. The last words Jesus ever communicated were repent. For this person, it is a daily activity in acknowledging my personal tethered string, and cutting loose.
